Section in colon showed:
- submucosa & musculosa: infiltrated by malignant cells some become signet ring ( intracellular mucin) and ruptured malignant acini
- large areas of pale mucin ( mucin lakes)
- mucosal ulceration
- foci of haemorrhage and necrosis
